Quick Question

OK, this is a two parter actually - I though it might be fun to have a Mister and Miss New Galen Pageant. I'm thinking it should be silly and entertaining, perhaps something to do in the slow time in the afternoon Saturday. We're talking sahes and tiaras, and that's just for Heymesh. :)

However, I am a bit concerened that some people might not like this, and I don't want to piss anyone off (or make them uncomfortable. Also, this won't be a beauty pageant. I'm thinking tests of talents (singing, music, whatnot), skills, fighting, and no swimsuit competition (again, sorry Heymesh ;).

The second part - should I still call it the New Galen Pageant?? Since we aren't technically being controlled by them... though it is still the name of the town, and I have interest in changing the name.

Ideas? Comments? Questions? Objections?

OOPS! That should read at the end that "I have NO interest in changing the name."

Though Kaisburgh has a nice ring to it...

OH MY GOD. Were you not HERE when Carrie and I did EXACTLY what you just proposed? It was Zoe Macaya & Elle de la Croich present: The Mr. & Miss Areth Pageant. TRUE FACT: Sir Karius Oakshield and Luna are the current reigning Mr. & Miss Areth. There was a talent contest and an eveningwear competition, with Elle doing the fashion callouts and everything. Did you know that Sir Karius has the most freaking beautiful voice ever heard in all of New Galen? And Luna is... well, just fabulous. Sashes were awarded, along with fabulous prizes including an enchanted jewel-encrusted bra and jock strap for the respective winners.

Hmm... though now that I think about it, it has been like, 2 years since I last played Elle. It might be time for another pageant. You want Carrie and me to help? I swear we will make it totally worth your while (Zoe and Elle can make the party happen. Actually, we entertained people for over an hour last time - hell, we were so interesting that the entire town accidentally let one of Blackmoon's golems raid the alchemy shop while they were all attending the pageant).

Send us email! Carrie will probably pee her pants if she hears that someone else wants to run another pageant.

P.S.

Oh, and I know this is totally your show and such, so you should make all the calls about what kinds of awards are handed out, but if you happen to want help making jewel-encrusted items, please feel free to ask. Seriously, nothing is funnier than going into a CVS and buying a jock strap and some sequins...

Hilarity will ensue. Just one hitch for me. I would love this and have a ball, but I don't think my charachter would participate of her own volition. Suggestions for how to rationalize my way into the pageant?

Paddlin' will not be a category.

though you could use it as your Talent...

And I do know someone who likes spankings...

OK this is quickly degrading into depravity.

I love that you used the word Frell.

Also, I think Saalweth could justify entering the pageant - to dominate all mankind from the throne of Miss Aerth. ;)

I had no idea that there had been such a pageant before - apparently, exactly one moon beofre my first event.

But, I think it is time for more pageantry.

Kim, I will definitely want your, Carrie and even Tiff's help ;)

As you have already put one pageant on, I will be looking to you for guidance on this one!

The talent part is the best -and you can do WHATEVER. if it's paddlin', burping the aplphabet, drinking until you vomit, etc. Do Impressions. Whatever you want. This is really where you'll have the most fun. You should have SEEN the prizes last time - I went whole hog with gold pray paint, glitter and little plastic gems - oh, and tassles! poor Luna - that bra I bought was like a humungous double D strapless (so it would fit practiacally anybody).

The talent portion; does it need to be something done right there, or can it be something done over time and presenting the finished product during the competition? Want to make sure I make the right preparations. :-)

I would say it would have to be done right there. It's not quite as entertaining if you, say, paint a picture and simply present it ;)
